Memphis is a city located in the southwest corner of Tennessee. Memphis rises above the Mississippi River, just south of the mouth of the Wolf River. As of 2007, Memphis was declared the largest city in Tennessee and the second largest in the Southeastern United States. Memphis is the youngest of Tennessee's four major cities. Memphis has the one and only Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum. The museum’s exhibition covers the birth of rock and soul music, created by the Smithsonian Institution, and tells the story of musical pioneers whom loved music and overcame racial barriers to make the music that stirred the world.
