Robbery Thwarted at Bellagio

It's like something straight out of the movies. Two suspects went into the Bellagio in Las Vegas at about 10:45 Saturday. They headed over to the table games and tried to grab casino chips right off the table.

The men wore disguises and had pepper spray as a weapon but that didn't stop the Bellagio employees from halting the robbery from taking place. One of the suspects ran away but the other one was apprehended on the spot. He has been identified as Michael Quinn Belton, 24, of Nuevo, CA.

The casino got a bit crazy during the robbery attempt, but it only lasted a minute or so before security swooped in and remedied the situation. The suspect used the pepper spray on the blackjack dealer and a man that had just placed a bet at the table.

The suspect initially had trouble with the pepper spray, as it wouldn't spray. Once it finally did, the security guards leapt into action. Belton was arrested on the spot and booked at the Clark County Detention Center. He's being held on $60,000 bail. On Monday, he was charged with a count of burglary, a count of conspiracy to commit robbery, and two counts of robbery.
