Houston is already ranked second when it comes to job growth. Now, Enterprise Product Partners LLP and Enbridge Inc have announced that the Seaway pipeline which is currently pumping oil to Oklahoma will now be redirected to Houston area. Both the Houston based companies have said that they are looking to provide more alternatives to the Houston market. The 669 mile pipeline that flows from Oklahoma will now make an historical diversion to Houston area. Enterprise Product Partners LLP said that the pipeline will pump 150,000 barrels of oil per day that will boost the economy of Houston in some way.
Both the companies made an announcement that they will share the subsidiary Seaway Crude Pipeline Company LLC. The company also said that they pumped the first barrel on May 19 at 12 pm Central Time. The company also said that although they have this pipeline flowing towards Houston area consumers in Houston will not see drop in oil prices. The company said that it is the responsibility of refineries to ensure that they bring down the prices of oil. The company also said that they are looking for this option to ensure that US does not depend on the Middle East in the future for their oil demands.
