The city of Flushing is located in the north central part of New York City in Queens. Flushing was founded in 1645, and is about ten miles from Manhattan. It was a Dutch settlement on Long Island, and is one of New York City’s largest and most diverse neighborhoods. Flushing is also the home to Citi Field and the National Tennis Center, where the United States Tennis Open is held.
