Dean Foods have been going through a lot in the last few days regarding the lawsuit that has been filed against them in Tennessee by local retailers claiming that Dean Foods along with other companies have tried to impede price competition in Tennessee. However, as per the latest news the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee has come out with the judgment to dismiss the suit filed against the company providing a huge relief to Dean Foods. The Court said that the judgment is subject to appeal but the Court has dismissed the antitrust lawsuit that local retailers have filed.

Dean Foods is among the largest dairy producers in the United States and they previously decided to settle the issue with Tennessee dairy farmers for a settlement of $140 million. However, the dairy farmers chose to take the matter to the Court but the decision has gone against them as the Court has decided that Dean Foods have the right to recover costs from plaintiffs. Earlier, Dean Foods had announced that they have cut down the number of jobs in their Dallas headquarters office to bring down the overall production costs. In February they went for 10-K filing with Securities and Exchange Commission and announced that they have eliminated more than 300 workers and corporate executives to cut down the costs.
