American Airlines have always remained one of the biggest employers in Dallas and there has been lot happening over the merger that the company is interested in with the US Airways. In the last few weeks the company has been coming up with news that would allow them to merge with US Airways. Now, all the three labor union groups have said that they support the company’s idea to merge with US Airways as that will provide better growth to the company. The employees have said that they will be supporting the possible merger between American Airlines and US Airways.

The President of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, the Allied Pilots Association and the Transport Workers Union have all agreed with the merger. They said that more than 53,000 employees out of 87,500 employees have agreed with the agreements between American Airlines and US Airways because they believe that it will help the company to make profits in the future which will also help them to have better economic growth. On the other hand, American Airlines had proposed that they would eliminate 13000 union jobs from the company that would help them to focus more on their business and they had this plan when they were filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the court.

However, the US Airways have said that there are many more things that must happen before the merger actually happens and therefore they will look into it. The company also said that although the employees are happy with the merger they will need to discuss it with the management team and Board of Directors only after which the final decision will be taken. The company also said that currently they don't need to have any merger to make better development but they will look into the current state and future plans of American Airlines before they actually go through the agreement.
