Kokonut Island Grill Riverton

Service was absolutely horrid. Kids were running the place who werent able to answer basic questions about the menu. I would think a new restaurant would have some leadership present, but nope. We had to order three separate times and they were out of several items. My husband ordered Katsu chicken and one of the employees asked one of the other employees what they should do because there wasnt enough for his order. The employee instructed their colleague to just add more salad and hell never know the difference. We heard this entire exchange, as they had it right in front of us. Very odd experience to say the least. The only positive was the mac salad. Go somewhere else for Hawaiian grub.

Food is good but not happy. To the owner, dont write down and accumulate orders on boxes then serve later. This doesnt allow for modification through the line. In my case i asked for modification, the worker said ok, charged me, and said will bring it out later but didnt. I saw it happen to another customer. Just go through the line like chipotle, order the item 1 by 1 then charge as you see. Also this isnt the staffs fault they tried, but you cant put them in a position to where they have to remember things. The line is way slower that way. This is a similar complaint from other bad posts on here.

I loved the staff, so friendly WENT OUT OF THE WAY TO check on us, Wait was long because they were busy but it was fresh. They were very respectful and kind. The food is out of this world! No fast food place is going to be perfect but I was very excited to try it! they did a great job taking care of us! I WILL BE BACK!

Our second time trying to eat here - always out of food way too early. VERY very slow!!!!!!! What food they had left (at 6pm) was barely ok. They were out of rice and almost all the meats. Brown rice was like eating popcorn kernels and the chicken dry, black, and hard. The serving surfaces and most tables were filthy. The trash cans were all overflowing, as though they hadn't been emptied all day. We asked for it, and the tongs, to be cleaned off before serving us (we'd been in line for 40min and it hadn't been wiped off once). Had to send people away at 7pm because they had no food. Only head/cashier seemed to know what was going on- she was very pleasant.

We came on a Saturday and the line was super long but there weren't really that many people in the restaurant seated and eating. The line took probably 45 minutes to go through only about 10-15 people. The process was very slow and the employees did not seem to know what they were doing or how to handle the number of people. They did not appear to be short-staffed but did not feel any kind of need to move quicker. By the time they were ready to take our order they were out of white rice and scooping out the last of the mac salad. We decided on the brown rice which was not great I would have preferred white rice. My husband ordered the Northshore chicken but they forgot to put the sauce on it and the line was so long we just ate it as is. The chicken and rice are pretty dry without using the terriyaki sauce which I had to wait in line again to ask for. They were out of napkins and silverware and the tables were dirty. We asked for silverware and napkins but they never did refill the napkins. My daughter and I got really sick about 1 day after eating there with what I assume was food poisoning from eating the macaroni salad because my husband did not eat the macaroni salad and he was fine. The chicken was tasty and cooked well but we just needed more sauce to go with it. Just overall very disappointed with our visit!
