SOL Mt. Pleasant

Parking: Parking lot very was full.The restaurant was full. However once inside the looks and stares were cold, lots of Rolling of the eyes, whispers, dirty looks. My 20 year old ordered her food which cost $46 and we noticed we were the only brown folks in this place. We waited and waited, and waited and waited.The longer the wait the more uncomfortable things became. My daughter asked about her order after 20 mins and was told. We're waiting on one more item( we ordered a salad and Carne asada fries). After another 15 minutes, I told her, I am not eating this food. No way. So, we told the girl at the front, we're just gonna go, we've been waiting quite a while. She says, are you sure? I can check for you.( This entire time she and the other females standing there talking and snickering, did t bother to help out. No need to be FAKE now. So We exited(stage left). We're gonna try a d get her money back through the bank. If not, lesson learned. Look around before you go into unfamiliar territory. The entire weekend in Mt. Pleasant, Charleston was a lesson learned. We still have a way to go with racism. Unfortunately "Sol Mexican restaurant" wasn't the only place where we felt uncomfortable here. Mt. Pleasant South Carolina isn't Pleasant if you're someone who was born with Beautiful brown or black skin.

Ill start off by saying we were a late group and felt bad we arent from here and didnt realize a lot of place close pretty early so we were there about 25 mins before the kitchen closed and they were the nicest people about it. Food was absolutely amazing the best tacos Ive ever had!!! Our server was awesome didnt catch her name but thank you!

Surprised when we learned that you pay for chips and salsa but we were optimistic thinking it would be good home made chips and worth paying extra for. The chips were store bought and staleDisappointed that the only salsa they had that was not chunky was really spicy. The chunky salsa might as well have been called diced tomatoes. The server was nice enough to take it off the bill but I had to ask. Seems like a lot of potential with this place but its not there for me.
