Our family has had kids taking classes at Encore Performing Arts Center for about 10 years now. My children have explored musical theater, hip hop, stretching and strengthening classes, acrobatics, ballet and other traditional dance styles, performance opportunities and competitive dance team. The summer camps are always a hit, especially Circus camp! This place is very special to us. The director and instructors are like a 2nd family and the friendships made with other dancers and their families are bound to be lifelong connections.

Went to Encore for many years, was on the performance team. Overall the owner was unprofessional and in my opinion severely damaged kids' self esteem. Owner displayed clear biases and seemed to enjoy publicly shaming children in front of their peers. Dance technique and knowledge was subpar. I remember also hearing that another teammate was asked to change in a separate area from the other students because she was bisexual which I found both unprofessional and discriminatory. Additionally, there were multiple times where I felt actively pressured by the owner (as a child) to engage in her religion with the team despite many of us kids either not being religious or not being her religion. After going to 3 dance studios in the area, Encore stood out as a profoundly negative experience. I'd recommend looking elsewhere-- both to parents and prospective dancers. I hope Encore has taken or will take steps to change.
