So can I just say, a100.00 or even two hundred bucks if you want the best place in all of Plymouth. Salty Briny air on your skin. The sound of crashing waves, the sight of sailing vessels and gliding sea gulls through the sky. A spectacular sunrise greeting you every day and the most gorgeous sunset kissing you good night. Yes the hotel is old, yes it needs up dating. Yes amenities are closed. It struggles, not because the staff sucks, although I don't know the new owners. But I do know the staff. They are warm, a little timid, as you yourself would be, some of the guests are so abusive. However never in any circumstance were they disrespectful. If I needed anything... All I had to do is ask. I don't know if VJ or Kelly are still there , but if they are. I guarantee you top notch service. Tell them Mel sent ya. But seriously if you come here don't expect false grandeur or a cookie cutter room. Expect an old beauty, who has endured every rough sea, and every high tide. A hotel that keeps changing hands, with different owners with different vision. Eventually it will rest because they'll give up on change and settle on repair, and just fix her. I absolutely love this place. I am going for a visit soon. I am bringing my grand children with me, we will comb the beach, pack a picnic, put our feet in the sand, bathe, watch a movie, order dinner, grab our cocoa and go watch the sunset. A perfect day.
