Pearson Online Academy

Pearson jacked up the tuition for 2022 by 30% and got a new management team which is much worse than before. The quality of education has deteriorated significantly with the new management.

What a waste of money! My daughter had to do a credit recovery course for her language arts during the summer. The teacher could not be contacted and the only time I heard from her was to tell me the course timeframe was over and my daughters work was incomplete and that they had a no refund policy. She asked if would like to speak with a manager and told me they would reach out but no manager called. I left several messages for a manager and three months later I finally was able to speak to someone and they told me there was nothing they could do. Only use this school if you have $600 for each course to flush down the toilet! Very frustrating and disappointing from beginning to end! These days any business with a no refund policy is saying we do not care about our service so beware!!!

Our daughter is in her fifth year at Pearson Online Academy. She began there in 5th grade and is now in 9th grade. We selected Pearson for her initially because she was already grade accelerated by two years and Pearson had no issues placing her in the appropriate grade level academically despite her age. Additionally, Pearson has a strong gifted and talented program, which, instead of adding supplementary material, allows students to work at a higher grade level by course. We have stayed at Pearson because our daughter loves it, the teachers and administrative staff are fantastic, the curriculum is very strong, the standardized testing they use is informative, but not overwhelming, and the flexibility of doing school on the computer allows her to pursue other passions. Additionally, the cost is very reasonable compared to traditional private schools that, in our area, cost between $20k and $30 per year depending on the grade level. We highly recommend Pearson Online Academy.

Pearson Online Academy has provided me with an excellent education over the last eleven years. I believe I have been equipped with an education far beyond what many brick-and-mortar schools offer. The teachers are consistently attentive and accessible; I have formed many memorable relationships with my teachers, even though we are online. Student-wise, I have met amazing people from around the world, and it's allowed me to become an incredibly globally-minded student. Through my eleven years, I have learned academic and personal independence. I have enjoyed my entire academic career at Pearson Online academy and am honored to be graduating from there this year.

I have been a student at Pearson Online Academy for several years now, and I have to say that it has exceeded all the expectations my mom and I had when we first joined. We were both fairly skeptical in the beginning about the quality of education I would be able to receive, being accustomed to traditional brick-and-mortar schools, but I quickly grew attached to POA. The high-caliber teachers, strong school community, and self-paced rigorous curriculum are but a few of the many reasons I will continue to be a fan of POA. I have found more than just skilled teachers; I have found mentors who I will continue to rely on for the rest of my academic career. If you're a student who wants to develop autonomy, build a strong academic foundation, and take advanced courses in the subjects that matter to you, POA is undoubtedly the best option. I am truly grateful for the opportunities the school has given me.
