Kari was very attentive and responsive to our communications, even outside of normal work hours. While as first-time homebuyers we found there are some parts of the residential real estate industry we didn't love or think were entirely fair, Kari always explained matters clearly. She also got us a fantastic interest rate. Our biggest disappointment was that the appraiser didn't finish the appraisal, which in fairness had to be rushed, within the timeframe promised. It's not entirely clear whose fault that was (it may have been the condo's at least in part). Kari had assured us the appraisal would get done in time. She also expressed a high degree of certainty that the appraisal would not come in low. Ultimately, it did come in low but not too low. As a result, we have to pay a small monthly premium for mortgage insurance for the first six years of the mortgage, but the premium is small enough that it did not affect our willingness to take out the mortgage. We realize, of course, that Kari had limited control over the appraisal process. In short, my only criticism is that she promised more than she had the power to deliver with certainty. I would have preferred it if she had tempered her promises - underpromise and over-perform is my motto. Overall, however, Kari was great. Very knowledge, personable, and empathic. I would recommend her to prospective homebuyers.
