Upon speaking with Fred, the owner, I shared the item I wanted customized: a scapular. After showing him a picture online, he asked for a couple of days to work on it. Later, he called me to the store to view a mold he had completed. It looked good, but what truly amazed me was when he handed me the finished piece. His work is impeccable; the attention to detail reflects his extensive experience. I cannot thank Fred enough for the quality of his work. I had approached other jewelry shops throughout San Diego with the same request, and while they all claimed they could fulfill it, I sensed a lack of genuine interest in their responses. Unicorn jewelry is the place to go. Fred was extremely professional and helped me pick out the absolute best diamond and created a ring that was exactly how I imagined it. I did not feel pressured into buying anything and Fred explained everything about diamonds to me and helped me feel very informed. I am so pleased they did and I too absolutely recommend Fred (the owner) and the entire staff for excellent service (I especially love "Fury") and their beautiful jewelry. The prices are very reasonable. In 15 years, I have purchased several pieces of jewelry and every time I wear Unicorn's jewelry I receive compliments. They have also provided me the following additional services: Custom designed and made a stunning yellow gold choker necklace with a diamond and blue topaz pendant, upgraded diamonds in pre-existing settings, perfectly duplicated a matching pearl-diamond earring (for one that I lost), serviced my Baume-Mercier watch (they are official dealers of B-M), beautifully updated my antique cameo earrings and pendant set and increased the gold shank on my mid century modern amethyst cabochon ring. I am very happy with the diamonds, sapphires, topaz, citrine and amethyst I have purchased. Frankly, there is nothing they cannot do if it involves jewelry and watches. You develop relationships with these lovely people. For example, Fury knows what I love and what flatters me in gem stone colors, shapes and settings and is very honest if she thinks I could make a wiser or more flattering purchase (the woman has superb taste). Fred is the person who knows everything there is to know and is an honest businessman. It truly does not get better than Unicorn Jewelry.
