My name is Raslyn Preston and I'm currently a third year medical student at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. I met Dr. Rastogi when I was a first year undergraduate at UCLA. Knowing that my goal was to become a physician, he mentored me to become a clinical research coordinator within the CORE Kidney Health Program at UCLA Health. Through the CORE Kidney Program at UCLA, he demonstrates his focus on giving back to the community via his free educational UKEEP series, health fairs and involvement with the undergraduate Bruin Beans Health Club. The students and patients of his that I worked with regularly praised how they always came away from their interactions with him having learned something new. In addition to his professional mentorship, I admired how he connects with his patients while educating them and providing exceptional medical care -- something I want to emulate in my future practice.

Dr. Anjay Rastogi is absolutely the best! Despite being an adult nephrologist for UCLA Health, he has always taken the time to provide our daughter, the continuous care and guidance that she’s needed. Now at 17 years of age, he referred her to the appropriate UCLA Health pediatric physician. His knowledge, professionalism, empathy and genuine caring personality, gave us the confidence and peace of mind that we needed. I truly appreciate his respect and understanding for the Hispanic community. We are very grateful that he gave us the personalized care that he is known for. Dr. Anjay Rastogi is an extraordinary human being with a great spirit of service. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Rastogi has been one of the most phenomenal doctors I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with. When I first met Dr. Anjay Rastogi and his team, I had just finished my dialysis technician training with a drive to become a physician assistant. I soon applied to become a volunteer for the UCLA CORE Kidney Health Program and was afforded the privilege to work with one of the most supportive, attentive, and passionate teams I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. A year since joining the team, I have managed content creation for the CORE website, research projects, shared resources to patients, presented to medical students, volunteer training, networked with multiple people in and out of the medical field, learned about the intricacies of kidney disease at its core and I’m now interviewing with a variety of Physician Assistant Programs as a first generation Latina. Volunteering in the UCLA CORE office has solidified my goals to become a physician assistant by allowing me to wear many hats, challenging me as a pre-med, connecting me and our patients with amazing resources, and receiving mentorship by the medical director himself, Dr. Rastogi. He delves into his work with patience and with meticulous attention to detail-while taking every opportunity to teach those around him about the intricacies of kidney disease and their preventative measures. He works on multiple cutting-edge research projects, prepares monthly educational workshops for the community while being a huge advocate for his patients. Dr. Rastogi always makes sure that his patients are receiving the best treatments in the nation! Observing his bedside manner, advocacy and interdisciplinary care has shaped me for ultimate success as a clinician. In congruence with working as a dialysis technician, UCLA CORE Kidney Health Program has continuously supported me to fulfill my career goals and life long dream to serve my community. It has been an honor to be a part of one of the best and most passionate medical teams in the nation-it has been the learning opportunity of a lifetime.

My family would like to thank Dr. Anjay Rastogi and UCLA Health for such an amazing patient conference on Sunday!! This was their 7th Annual UCLA CORE Kidney Health event, now virtual. Originally an educational fair at the beach that we would drive to all the way from Orange County to attend. We've never missed one of these fantastic annual events! This conference was so relevant to kidney health today, both for those with chronic kidney disease and those who want to prevent it. I would know because my husband has genetic polycystic kidney disease and was transplanted through living kidney donation. I was privileged to be that kidney donor. It's truly amazing what Dr. Rastogi and UCLA Health has done to enhance the care of patients with advanced kidney disease. On behalf of the Winchell Family, we are very grateful to Dr. Rastogi and the UCLA CORE Kidney Health Program for all that they do!

(Translated by Google) Hi, I'm Pao Romo from Mexico City and I'm with Team Esperanza. Many people in Mexico follow them for the programs organized by the UCLA CORE Kidney Program. Unfortunately, we do not have programs like this in Mexico. It would help us more if these programs were translated into Spanish. Is there a possibility that you could have a program in Spanish for the Spanish-speaking population, which is very high in Los Angeles and we can also benefit from your valuable information?
