Bachata Dance Academy

Demetrio and Nicole are the best bachata dance instructors ever! They make each class so fun, interactive, welcoming and educational. I thoroughly enjoyed learning from them in the Beginners Masterclass as well as the Social Dancing Masterclass. They take the time to explain and break down each move and are always happy to help answer any questions. Highly recommend and I'm looking forward to taking more classes with them in the near future!

This is by far the best place to learn bachata in LA. Demetrio and Nicole are so good at teaching beginner and intermediate dancers - they focus on the fundamentals and the details and really spend time making sure you're getting the right instruction. They've also built a really strong community here ~ if you're new to dance like I was, I wish I could go back in time and do it sooner! This is the fastest I've ever made friends and found community as an adult. I highly recommend taking their Master Class series - I took it having only ever taken a small handful of dance classes prior, and I am shocked at the amount of progress I've made. The environment is supportive and it is also somewhere that really motivates you to keep coming back and to commit to it. It helps that it's the best price of any bachata program I've found in southern California. The one piece of advice I'd give is that if you're a true beginner, you've never danced bachata before, and you're a bit nervous about the idea of starting, one thing that can help is to take a look at their online classes and watch a few to get familiar with the basic step and basic turn so that you feel prepared going into it. They do go at a gradual pace and I've met people in classes where it's their first time ever and they can follow along, but if you're nervous it'll help ease the nerves :)
