Greetings,As a retired (medical) soldier from the Army, I looked for a place where I could meditate utilizing martial arts as a meditation class. I looked all over, and I saw the name Valhalla and was immediately attracted to the place based off that. Professor/Instructor Andrew talked with me on the phone and I tried out for Filipino Martial Arts and Savate / Jeet Kune Do / Muay Thai. Though I was not attracted to Filipino Martial Arts, I wanted to know more about Savate as I could not recall this form of martial arts. Professor / Instructor Andrew is not only an indescribable instructor / educator / teacher / professor, but his historical background on Savate is so profound. Even after training he ceases to not amaze me with his arsenal of knowledge of how Savate originated from as I had no clue, but only knowing about Jeet Kune Do & Muay Thai from training in the military. I have now been training with him about to go on 2 years as my love for the martial arts known as Savate has grown tremendously. I do recommend anyone to train here as well as knowing he also has his older brother, Mr. Jason training students as well. Their combined knowledge of martial arts makes them an undefeatable duo that loves to teach and educate, and I just really could say more about them, but will leave it here by saying, come and see it for yourself, as you will not be disappointed.

Greetings Fellow Martial Artist, I am a current student of Professor Andrew and his older Brother, Professor Jason. When I first started off, I gave Professor Andrew my background of having served in the military and the reason for wanting to come and train with him. Both he and his brother has brought joy to me as I am a severely injured soldier who now walks with the use of a prosthetic and he was willing to train me in my current state. Savate/Jeet Kune Do/Muay Thai is what I practice now going on for about 2 years. This martial art has helped me with concentration, balance, greater fitness, such as cardiorespiratory fitness and just building a family. He knows that if he does not see me, I am only tending to family but other than that I am going to train at least three times a week. I do hope after achieving my Masters degree I would like to go up to four days a week. You have to believe me when I say that he and his brother, his Mom and Dad and all of Valhalla are family and dont mess with family but all aside, they are and have helped me overcome so many adversities. With the help of my prosthetist has given me a new prosthetic that has advanced me in Savate / Jeet Kune Do/ Muay Thai. I do love them both for being awesome, indescribable trainers as they remind me 19 years ago of my drill sergeants that always pave the way of never say I cant, but I can, I shall, and I will. If you need confidence because of looking at your outward appearance, I will gladly speak of both Professors/Instructors/Educators Andrew and Jason are the best and will never take back such a remarkable review about what they can do for those who might be fighting shyness of their outward appearance. I am not ashamed for being an injured combat veteran with a prosthetic, but I rose to the challenge and did the homework like each of them showed me and when I fall, they tell me to get back up and no matter what it looks like, background, age, disability, they are going to train you and train you hard with great compassion.

We attended Valhalla Academy for a little over a year. It was a great starting point in my son learning of BJJ. Unfortunately the lack of instructional support/control for the kids is what made us look elsewhere.
