I've been going here since I was a kid, so it's sad to see that they're closing down. Get groceries in sale before they close later this month!

Bi-Lo's is a good option for a mid-level quality supermarket at fair but not outstanding prices. There is intense competition in the local area for supermarkets and consumers have a huge number of choices. Bi-Lo's is straddled by supermarkets with higher-end specialty foods, services and prices such as Publix and Harris Teeter, and ultra cheap competitors like Lidl and Aldi's who offer outstanding savings but fewer selections and services. Bi-Lo's tries to go right down the middle of this spectrum. Good but not exceptional pricing, good but not exceptional services or selections. They do offer a lot of micro-incentives to shoppers with special interests. For example they get hard-to-find specialty items not always available in this market. Examples include outstanding generic brand items of surprisingly high quality -- like kettle chips - and specialty items like Hickory Farms Summer Sausage, a Christmas treat in the Midwest almost impossible to find in Charlotte. I do wish the store were cleaner, the service faster, and the meat fresher. There's lots to love here with unexpected finds, but competition in this market is heavy and the middle path of price service and quality risky.
