Working on my street. Why do they have to park both their personal vehicles and six company truck on sides of road, in an already narrow street, when there is an unused parking lot 50 yards away? They have blocked driveways as well. Not to mention the fact that the people in those trucks spend an awful lot of time doing....a lot of nothing.

I had the most unpleasant interaction I've ever had with a road crew. I was just turning into my street when I saw the roadcrew set up with many cones. There were sizable gaps in between the cones - large enough for probably two cars to fit between. There was also no discernable impediment to traffic - i.e. a hole, men working, a digging truck, etc. I received a rather low key wave to proceed with my right turn but with no clear direction or obstacles to avoid. A second flag man began yelling loudly that I was going the wrong way. I told him I was merely following the directions I received (again no visible impediments were present). He began to yell louder to back up! I backed up and began a new slow right turn. This, apparently was also not correct and he continued to berate me yelling that I shouldn't even be driving. I've called this into NPL and provided the license plate of one of the trucks on site. I ended up speaking to two different (and helpful) women at different times. Never had anything like this happen before. Hopefully, I will hear back with some substantial action being taken. A first response should never be to start yelling. ....Well, I had to add on to this. The good news is someone called back from the company. The bad news is it was Brad, who manages the contracted employees (the flag folks) who work for NPL. He went to great lengths to tell me that the main concern of these people is safety - of the residents and the employees. The individual involved, whom Brad seemed to know, was described as extremely passionate about his job. Yes, he is very loud, but that is just so that all can hear over the noise of the jobsite. The fact that he was not profane nor physical seemed to excuse his utter lack of professionalism and rudeness. When I tried to make this point, along with the fact that there was no impending danger, noise, or activity either from the workers or any traffic whatsoever, Brad promptly hung up on me.
