I am a local resident in San Antonio, and needed a place to stay as our AC was not functioning. I reserved this location last minute and had no issues until I arrived at the hotel later that night. I was informed at check-in (not in email, or through IHG's website), that I was required to put down a $100 cash deposit as I was a local. This was not something I expected or needed after a long day dealing with a hot home. This is ridiculous as all hotels I have stayed at (even local ones) have always just authorized a deposit to my credit card. Sadly to say, IHG has allowed the owner/operator of this Holiday Inn Express to make it's own rules and inconvenience customers, which include frequent travelers of the brands under the IHG umbrella. For this reason, I am saying goodbye to all IHG Hotels Worldwide.

Chains on back gate, one way in and one way out. Breakfast was good. Customer service at check needs improvement especially with a quadriplegic. Rooms: Need upgrade , no stoper for the bathtub.

Convenient location to downtown (the Alamo, River Walk) and to Lackland with lots of places to eat close-by. Front desk service and breakfast was great. Housekeeping didn't come until almost 5p. Didn't understand why so late when we were gone most of the day, and we were back and resting when they showed up. No explanation as to why. Anyway, not awful but definitely room for improvement. Rooms: Dated but updated at the same time. Newer fixtures, but it was showing some age. Maybe it just needs a touch of paint and some repairs. There was a pop and creak in the bathroom laminate tile, stuff on the bathroom ceiling, and a dip in the tub. Food & drinks: No restaurant on site but lots of options within walking distance, but would advise against it due to the busy interstate traffic entering and exiting.
