    I have been working on John Deere products for over 50 yrs. I was born and raised on a cattle operation that had JD tractors. I have owned the same small L110 JD lawn tractor for over 20 yrs. As such, I have changed the oil and filter over 20 times using JD products only. I recently went to Tellus and purchased the standard tune up kit. Got home and began service. Drained oil, removed oil filter and attempted to install the new filter out of the box. The new filter would not screw onto filter housing. Remember, I have removed and installed over 20 of these filters and on each previous occasion it went on easily and perfectly. I inspected the new filter and it was obvious that it was threaded differently. This was on a Saturday morning, I called Tellus and the recording said they were open until noon. drove about 15 miles to Tellus and they were not open even though it was before noon. Went back home and returned to store the following week and this is where things begin to go south. It is obvious that the filter was defective regarding the threads on the filter but when I attempted to explain this to the parts man his only response was it is the correct part number. I agreed with him that the part number was correct but it wont go onto the filter housing. While he was repeatedly telling me that it was the correct part number another employee was listening. He joined the conversation and in a condescending way told me to bring the tractor in and he would put it on "for me" implying that I didn't know what I was doing even though I have been working on these tractors longer that he has been alive. I then asked that parts man what he was going to do about this and again his only response was "its the right part number". The other parts person was a pleasant young man that I had spoken to on my first visit when I initially bought the filter but he was not involved in this situation. He was always pleasant and smiling but I knew he couldn't get involved. I left and went to Lowe's and purchased the exact same JD filter with the exact same JD part number in a JD box and it went right on with no issues. I also went to a commercial bolt and screw supplier and bought the same size bolt that is used on the filter housing to make sure that what I was seeing and doing was correct. The bolt screwed right into my old JD oil filter but would not screw into the new filter from Tellus. My point to this long screed is that I understand that a defective part is not the fault of Tellus, the defective part came from JD BUT, Tellus and it employees were more interested in belittling a customer and implying that I didn't know what I was doing rather that remedying the situation. I was hoping the give my business to a local small business but apparently no good deed goes unpunished.

    Walked in today at 12:25. Stood at parts counter for a minute and was completely ignored by the two guys behind the counter and the sales man on his phone at front door. If they only knew the business they lost out on it would make them sick. Walked out and will NOT return.

    Please customers if you get service done on your equipment know that the service employees have to stay logged into a work order can only log onto billable hours to get their hourly pay. What this is if my husband only took one hour to fix your equipment and he has other things to do he was told to stay signed into the work order, so in turn you as a consumer may be paying more hours than actual work performed. So do your research Google has the power to know how many hours you should be getting billed....

    This place is a joke if you go to work there make sure to be aware of the pay. Recently experienced a job there and not one paycheck was correct went to three managers and HUMAN RESOURCES still nothing done, apparently went about it the wrong way and got fired for it. So if you are looking for a job and go to work punctual and expecting to get paid for your time there this is not the place for you. Take on techs little to no training make you feel belittled because you don't quite know the proper way to do anything went to work there hoping to further my career and learn and the only thing I learned was no process pass the buck and when there is a problem there is only one way to fix it get rid of it thank you next..... PS my husband was the one that actually experienced this.....
