Extremely communicative with follow ups and test results. The place was absolutely spotless, I had very little wait, and the cost with everything included in the subscription Care package is very affordable.

Heard an associate at the reception desk give an audible Yikes, as I was leaving with my pet. It was pretty rude. 2nd attempt to get him the shots he needed, as a rescue with an unknown history. Pet was on the trazodone they prescribed, but they still could not find a way to administer the shots. Wish they would have tried to be more creative. I will try a home visit vet next, dont think the VCA is right fit for us.

In a world where every vet has a giant waiting list, and emergency appointments are far and few between the individuals at VCA North Portland are all kind, and caring people. Its a pain to get in, and sometimes feels absurd when theres an urgent need, but the issue is systemic across many (if not all) vets in the Portland city limits. Once youve there their team does a great job and theyve taken great care of my cats. Reception staff in particular are fantastic clearly juggling an oversized workload but still friendly and as accommodating as they can be.

Extremely knowledgeable doctors who also treat their pet owners as intelligent people, unlike another chain (Banfield, are your ears burning?). Be prepared to part with a large amount of money, however. Overall, would recommend. Avoid Dr Tiau; she struggles to interact with humans.
