Dr. Ayer-Cole is the most knowledgeable doctor when it concerns Sickle Cell Disease I have ever met. I moved from NJ where I was seeing another hematologist who did not know how to really manage Sickle Cell Disease. Because of the poor treatment at my previous doctor in NJ, my iron levels were through the roof and I was not aware. Dr. Ayre-Cole caught this right away and immediately knew how to best deal with the problem. She listens and understands that Sickle Cell is difficult. She is straightforward but you always get the sense that she is confident and knows exactly what she is talking about. She is also very up to date on new treatments available for Sickle Cell and explains all of your options. If you have had Sickle Cell Disease for a while, you know how difficult it is to find a doctor who really understands what Sickle Cell does to a person's body and life. I really do believe that I am in the right hands and I am so lucky to have found her. If you are looking for a knowledgeable doctor who will give it straight and help you, this is the person to go t!!
